Alanna Logan

ILLana-Popz

“Alanna is a powerhouse shaping the next generation of movement artists.”

Born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Alanna Logan — artistically known as ILLana-Popz — is a movement artist, director, curator, and mentor whose work lives at the intersection of performance, storytelling, and community. With over 25 years of training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, and street styles, she has developed a movement language rooted in technical excellence, cultural authenticity, and Black joy.

At just 16 years old, Alanna performed alongside Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Lil Nas X at the MTV Video Music Awards before touring internationally with The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour. Her performance career also includes appearances across television, film, and theater, including Showtime, Netflix, Nickelodeon, and serving as Associate Choreographer for Toni Stone at the Huntington Theatre.

Deeply rooted in popping and battle culture, Alanna trained under Megatron of Slaughter House. Competing as ILLana-Popz, she became a Finalist at Red Bull Dance Your Style Boston in both 2024 and 2025, qualifying for the National Finals, while also claiming titles at Stackin’ Styles Groove Punch and The Funk Poppin’ Battle.

As Director of Education & Artist Development for Slaughter House, Alanna helps preserve and expand the company’s legacy through mentorship, training, programming, and artist development rooted in street style culture, discipline, and community. With a growing demographic of women in the space, she brings a new approach to teaching dancers how to enter, hold, and attack the culture with confidence, foundation, and authenticity.

Today, Alanna’s work extends far beyond the stage. She is the founder of ILLana-Popz LLC, a creative mentorship and artist development platform rooted in dance, education, and community. She also serves as Curator of #HellaBlack at Boston Center for the Arts, where she mentors artists and helps shape multidisciplinary work that centers Black voices and community storytelling. As a member of Global Arts Live’s Art Advisory Circle, she is part of a cohort of artists and cultural workers partnering on The Platform Kendall to help shape the vision of Cambridge’s newest performance venue and community stage.

Whether directing artists, mentoring emerging creatives, performing internationally, or building spaces where communities can thrive, Alanna believes movement has the power to tell stories, foster belonging, and inspire transformation. She is also pursuing American Sign Language interpreting to expand accessibility and strengthen connections between the arts and Deaf communities.

I don’t just move through the culture. I help move it forward.”
